A free gifting marketplace

Give a keepsake
a second life.

Some things are too full of memory to sell and too good to throw away. Post the story, and let someone who'll love it come and get it.

How it works

Three steps, no passwords

  1. Photograph it and tell its story

  2. Someone nearby says "I'd love this"

  3. You choose, and hand it on

Keepsake serves the United States and Canada today. It isn't available in the UK or the Crown Dependencies — the Terms explain why.

The fine print, briefly

Why free, why no passwords

It's a gift, not a sale

Keepsake is free because these things aren't meant to be priced. You're not listing an item, you're passing something on to whoever will love it next.

No password to maintain

There's no password to lose and no profile to keep up. Your browser holds a private key that proves the listings are yours — that's the whole login. Giving something asks for your email, which is how we tell you that someone wants your keepsake, and how we mail you a new key if that browser ever forgets.

Every listing is screened

Photos and stories go through automated screening before they appear at all, and anything borderline waits, unpublished, for a person to look at it. Anyone can report a listing that shouldn't be there.

p.s. it takes about four minutes

Something's waiting for its next chapter.
